The irrepressible Basil’s Blues Band kicks off in their own inimitable way, on Weds 12, expect a fun-filled evening of blues rock, with a bit of Bonzo Dog thrown in.

FRIDAY 14 - ADRIAN BYRON BURNS - £4 on door

Friday 14 May andit’s the turn of Adrian Byron Burns bringing his acoustic blues Americana to the Festival. For the past fifteen years, Adrian has gained fame as a solo artist, both for his fabulous voice and for his incredible acoustic work.

SATURDAY 15 - GWYN ASHTON - £4 on door

Two-Man Blues Army joins in the fun on Saturday 15. Forging its own unique, unparalleled style: an explosive mixture of alternative blues, turbo- charged 50s-70s garage rock, 60s psychedelia and swamp delta blues, Gwyn Ashton’s Two-Man Blues Army goes into battle head-on, with a cutting-edge sound unlike anything out there today. The combo features award-winning Aussie guitarist Gwyn Ashton and Brit powerhouse drummer 'Killer' Kev Hickman.

WEDNESDAY 19 - THE BLUES DOCTORS - FREE

It’s another local band on Wednesday 19 May with The Blues Doctors. Recently formed and featuring a wealth of experience they will be playing a wide variety of blues rock.

FRIDAY 21 - JIM CRAWFORD - £4 on door

Friday 21 May see’s local blues legend Jim Crawford make a welcome return to the Palladium with his intimate blues style. Softly spoken, Jim totally surprises his audience when he breaks into a number with a resonant, barrelhouse blues vocal and for years has been revered among professional musicians as a consummate finger picker and slide guitarist.

SATURDAY 22 - SHAR-BABY & STEVE PAYNE - £4 on door

The festival draws to an end on Sat 22 May when delta blues diva Shar-Baby visits from Birmingham, Alabama for her first UK tour. A traditional, delta roots blues singer and guitarist, Shar-Baby has been singing and playing for over 40 years. Shar-Baby is joined by renowned guitarist Steve Payne.
